MPI Window Templates

A very useful concept in MPI is that of window templates. MPI allows you to choose from a selection of windows when creating a new window, and to set a default template for a new project.

You can add to these templates, remove or edit them in MPI Preferences

You can also create a template from and existing window by clicking the Register as Template button on the Property Inspector.

Clicking on the Register as Template button on the PI, the Edit or New buttons in the wd template preference card will open the The Window Template Dialog.

The Window Template Dialog

This dialog replicates the window card on the Property Inspector module, with some extra features.
You can set most of the windows properties plus the backsize of the template.

At the bottom left of the dialog there is a disclosure triangle whch expands the dialog to allow you to set some other features (click on the image to see the fullsized version in a new window).

The expanded dialog shows a screenshot of the area of your template window over your current screen , which is a nice trick. You can resize and position the template by dragging on the white rectangles over the screenshot.
