+ 8 - 5 | § MPI 2.7 Out

http://modulopi.free.fr New version out now.
A new "messages module" for tracking the messages. Like a Super HyperCard Message Watcher, very configurable.
some great inhancements to the Find module and more.
Stéphane Says: (more)

+ 6 - 5 | § ModuloPi version 2.6.1

ModuloPi version 2.6.1 - updated on 4/2/06.
New in Version 2.6
A polygon smoother:

And an addition to the customPointerDown module: Grids:

When checked if you drag an object with the pointer tool it will remain aligned on the invisible grid. The grid size ajusted with the popups on the module.

+ 5 - 0 | § PI Module: Naming objects tip

New to me (I missed it out in the PI module help). With the PI if an unnamed object is selected, typing will take you straight to the PI name field.

+ 0 - 6 | § MPI Online Help Update

I've added a page covering the PI module to the MPI Help and Information pages, it is not very complete at the moment but might help. There is a Movie of the PI in action too, poor quality but not to big for a quick look. The annotations are not in place yet.
Of course it is probably easier to download ModuloPI and start using it.

+ 3 - 2 | § MPI 2.5.0 Out

ModuloPi New version out.
Stéphane says:

What's new in this version :

The "Find text" module does find/replace in the text fields of the current card (including bg fields)
ctrl or cmd-F will open this module if a field is open (otherwise the find module is opened)
cmd-G finds the next
cmd-E finds the selection
If the searched string is found in a field outside the visible part of a scrolling window, the window will scroll to show the field.

The "Find" module now returns the lines of scripts where the searched string was found. Double-clicking this result edits the script and puts the insertion point at the right line. Unfortunately, it doesn't scroll the script field. But typing something forces the scroll, personnally, I use the right arrow.
The find module allows setting editable filters. A filter is a ST expression returning a boolean. If this expression returns false, the found item is ignored
For instance, one of the three default filters is as follows :
Name of the filter the filter
Ignore commented char 1 to 2 of found ? "--"
where "found" stands for the line of script where the searched string was found.

The number of the current card is now editable in the PI, this allows setting the number of the card.

The five main tools have been added to the window section of the contextclick popup. This allows limited edition of palettes (moving an object, changing a text ...) without converting the style to standard.

When the mouse is over a bg object and the editbg is false, ctrl-tab will toggle to the universal tool instead of the pointer tool.

Arcs can now be flipped and rotated from the "flip" popup menu of the "sizes" card of the PI. But the handling of picturedata in arcs still needs some working on.

I also fixed some bugs, especially in the dividers plug-in, especially when using dividers with the autoresize of the bg set to
false (in a scrolling window, for instance).

I say Thanks Stéphane MPI is an essential part of SuperCard for me.

+ 3 - 3 | § New AnchorData Module Movies

anchorData Mod
I've uploaded a series of Anchordata Module Movies which try to show just how easy it it to set up anchordata and dividers with MPI.

+ 1 - 4 | § MPI 2

MPI Splash New version out today. congratulations to Stéphane.
Highlights for me, a new feature of the AnchorData module to make it a snap to install movalbe dividers. This outdate my MPI's AnchorData Module Tutorial. I do have a wee movie of the new module, and will replace that with a better one soon.
There are also some updates to the The Object Linker Module and a few changes to the PI making it even more context responsive.
Go get it: modulopi

+ 1 - 3 | § MPI Tools h Module

MPI Tools I Just found a very nice hidden feature of this module (well it was hidden to me) Clicking the ZoomBox of the Tools h Modules window opens the palette up very nicely. Click on the screenshot of the collapsed module to see what I mean.

+ 2 - 2 | § MPI Recent menu

recent projects palette As mentioned in the last entry: The "Recents" and "Favorites" sub menus of the files menu can now be edited from palettes. These palettes may be used as usual MPI modules as an alternative to the menus. The "Recents" sub menu can be sorted by dates.
This is very nice indeed, single clicking on an project lets you remove it from the list, double clicking opens the project. The sort by date is a great improvment imo to the alphabetical menu in the previous version. The sort is reflected in the Recent Menu as well as the palette.

+ 4 - 1 | § ModuloPI Version 2.3 Out

ModuloPI Version 2.3 was released today.
MPI now comes with an installer and a help module which is installed into the SuperCard Help folder.
A new "Open ..." item in the file menu which allows opening various
types of SC projects : help and player projects and projects from older
versions of SC, back to 2.x.
The "Recents" and "Favorites" sub menus of the files menu can now be
edited from palettes. These palettes may be used as usual MPI modules
as an alternative to the menus. The "Recents" sub menu can be sorted by
dates.

As anyone reading these pages knows I am a MPI fan and it keeps getting better.

+ 2 - 2 | § ModuloPi Help and Information Menu Module

I've just added a page to the MPI Help and Information pages:
MPI menu module Including a small QT movie of the module in action.

+ 3 - 2 | § MPI Goodies

mpi icon In the module menu there is a goodies sub menu that has a few utilities in it that do not rely on MPI.
You can also put any project you like in the modules folder and they will show up as goodies.

+ 3 - 2 | § MPI Help and Information: Overview Module

MPI Icon I've updated the MPI Help and Information a bit today andding information on the Overview module including a wee quicktime Overview module movie

+ 6 - 0 | § MPI Chat

mpi icon On last week's SuperCard Chat Stéphane when through some of MPI's feature, a great chat.
The chat has been archived by Bruce Martin:
PDF and iChat file
Well worth a read if you missed the chat.

+ 2 - 3 | § ModuloPI

mpi icon
http://modulopi.free.fr/
version 2.2.0 New in this release :
The Resource module is now able to look at the resource folder of bundle applications and handle some of the resources.

A good week for Supercarders.

+ 2 - 2 | § MPI Help and Information Update

mpi icon Some information on the Magnifying glass module has been added to the MPI Help and Information pages, along with a movie of the module in action.

+ 3 - 2 | § MPI Help and info - Browse Module

mpi icon Just added Browse Module to the MPI Help and information pages.

+ 4 - 2 | § MPI Help and information update

mpi iconI've been working on the MPI Help and information pages, linked from here: ModuloPi. Added a page and quicktime movie on the Browse module.

+ 2 - 5 | § MPI Tip 5

Arrow Keys in MPI
Stéphane set me right on Arrow Keys:
Arrow keys nudge selected objects of one pixel with shift key up, 5 pixels with shift key down.
Same thing with option key will nudge the corresponding side of the object, i.e. option-shift-down arrow will move the bottom of the object 5 pixels down (and thus increase its height)

This works if :
- the message box is closed.
- the customPointerdown feature is enabled in the module.
- no field is open for editing in a palette if the textarrows is true (in this case the arrow keys are used for editing the field).

+ 0 - 5 | § MPI Tip 4

mpi icon Shift click on MPI palettes.
Shift clicking on anything on an MPI palette will bring up the SuperCard Language guide.
For example in the PI if you have a button selected you shift-click on the Kind: label and the SLG opens at the kind entry, the style lable opens the style entry. Shift-clicking the Style popup opens the SLG at the card for the selected style. Any of the labels or button will do this not only in the PI but in the other modules too. This makes MPI one of the best tools for learning SuperCard.
